Code of Conduct
Everyday campus expectations from the former student rules.
The former code of conduct combined courtesy, identification and care for shared learning spaces. Students were asked to carry their identity card, avoid loitering in corridors during lectures and maintain decorum. The page said there was no fixed dress code while still asking students to dress appropriately.
Shared spaces and activities
Visitors were restricted. Excursions and fundraising required permission. Students with a problem were directed first to a class teacher or supervisor. The rules also prohibited ragging. The old page printed legal material and a mobile-phone restriction from its period; those passages are not presented here as current law or policy.
A code works best when students can find the latest version before joining an activity or visiting a campus office. Read this page as the 2012–13 account of the college environment, and consult the institution’s current handbook for any rule that applies now.
