National Service Scheme
Student service and environmental work in the college account.
The old site gave the National Service Scheme (NSS) its own place in student activities. Its dedicated page retained little explanatory text, but the college’s consultancy account described concrete work: the NSS and nature club partnered with Hariyali, an environmental organisation, on awareness and tree-planting activity.
Service as part of education
That example fits the college’s stated mission of social development and practical learning. Student service reached beyond the classroom and placed the college in conversation with its surrounding community.
The old consultancy page also mentioned ten grace marks for NSS participation at the time. This is a dated rule, not a current entitlement. Students should check current programme activity, enrolment and academic treatment directly with the institution. The historical account is useful for understanding why NSS was prominent in the site’s activities menu.
