Mission
Education for intellectual, physical, moral and social development.
The college’s mission described education as a contribution to the nation’s social, cultural and economic development. Its stated approach joined discipline with intellectual and physical training and moral development. The aim was to equip young people to participate in a changing society, not simply to pass examinations.
Fields and methods
The statement called for practical and rational education in commerce, economics, business management, science, law, information technology and computer science. It also emphasised useful skills in an increasingly globalised world. That mixture helps explain why the course history moves from commerce into computing, management and finance.
The student experience
