Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association established Mulund College of Commerce as part of a wider educational network. The association’s account linked its work to Lokmanya Tilak’s ideas of education, social progress, patriotism and self-respect.
An association with many branches
The 2013 management page listed 19 institutions in the association’s network. They ranged from schools and junior colleges to higher education and professional study. MCC’s degree and junior colleges and Mulund College of Commerce and Economics appeared at Dr Sarojini Naidu Road, Mulund West. This setting matters: the college was presented as one part of an association rather than an isolated campus.
What the association said education should do
Its account treated education as a public responsibility. Intellectual development, character, practical skill and participation in society were recurring ideas. The college’s mission carried those ideas into commerce, management, science and information technology. The college history shows how courses were added over time.
